San Francisco, day 2
Obviously, we all survived New Year's Eve (some better, some worse...) and started 2007 with an "extended" walk through SF. Well, it was a hard day but I think what we saw was really worth the torture. And the weather turned out to be perfect for hardcore sight seeing. See yourself!

... be sure to wear some flowers in your hair...
Well, that was not the case with me. However, I was REALLY looking forward to finally driving across the Golden Gate Bridge into one of the most beautiful cities I've been to so far. Despite the dense fog that nearly made any photos impossible during the first part of the day. Still, here are some impressions on what happened on day 1 (since it was also New Year's Eve we were in sort of a party mood; unfortunately, mine was a little excessive - therefore no pictures of the end of the day and SF's marvellous fireworks as I was told...)

Highway # 1, part 1
The next day I should see the Pacific for the first time and dude, I was really excited. As we were up in the North at the very beginning of highway # 1, the weather was appropriate: wind, rain and it was cold.
Still, it was cooool.

The next stop along the road was rather unplanned but after the long drive to Northern California, we could see that it had paid off.
The largest living things on Earth are called "Seqouias" and belong to the redwood trees. They can reach something like 360 ft (120 m) and they are MASSIVE, as you can see on the pictures below. I felt like a dwarf and I guess that's what every human thinks.
